World Voice Day 2007

April 2007

World Voice Day 2007 (poster) World Voice Day is held each year on 16th April. The idea was originally conceived by a group of voice professionals in Brazil, but has spread to become a global event. The idea is to celebrate the healthy human voice and to take the opportunity to educate and inform the public about the importance of voice and the need for preventative vocal care.

The British Voice Association and Voice Care Network have jointly commissioned a poster and leaflets to draw attention to the event and to invite the public to explore the BVA and Voice Care Network websites. We are also asking interested voice professionals to contact Sara Harris, Communications Officer for the BVA, to request posters and leaflets for distribution in ENT and Speech Therapy departments, health clinics, public libraries, doctor’s surgeries and schools. We are also calling for voice care professionals willing to contact local radio stations to give short interviews on the importance of voice and how to prevent voice problems. Guidelines are available from Sara Harris (email: src.harris@virgin.net).
