BVA News in brief...
March 2008
BVA Forthcoming Events 2008-2009
Our main focus this year, after the Research Day (Feb 22), the Voice Clinic Forum (Mar 6), and the Wythenshawe Voice Days (April 10-11), is the Choice for Voice multi-disciplinary event in July, described fully elsewhere in the Newsletter. After that there are as yet no firm dates for your diaries, but the following items are in the pipeline:
Acoustics Day in September or early October (London)
BVA in Scotland organised by Moira Little, possibly in November
‘What do the others do?’ - a multi-disciplinary event following the very successful format of July 2007, in Manchester or Leeds, February 2009, organised by Dane Chalfin.
Other areas under consideration are an Accent Method course and a conference on ‘psychology and the voice’, including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Solution Focus and recent research in performance anxiety.
As always, the Education Working Party is very open to suggestions for courses and/or speakers that would interest you.
Congratulations
We offer our congratulations to Sara Harris for her fellowship and Tom Harris for his honorary fellowship which was awarded by the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists in recognition of their work in the field of voice.

‘Fundamentals of the Singing Voice’ and Peter Harrison's questions
